Nestled in the heart of Bangkok’s Langsuan district, Craft at the Kimpton Maa-Lai Bangkok Hotel is a dynamic space that seamlessly blends casual daytime coffee culture with vibrant evening nightlife, powered by Void Acoustics. With both indoor and outdoor zones, including a pet-friendly garden, Craft required a sound system capable of delivering consistent clarity, high fidelity, and reliable performance across diverse conditions. Void Acoustics emerged as the ideal solution, providing the perfect balance of power, precision, and durability for this lifestyle venue.

Following the success of our Void Acoustics installation at Bar.Yard - the hotel’s rooftop bar, Aura Visual System, in collaboration with Never2Late, was commissioned to elevate the audio experience at Craft, ensuring the venue’s music and atmosphere could flow seamlessly throughout the day and night.

The outdoor garden zone required a system resilient to Bangkok’s sun and sudden rain showers. Void Acoustics Cyclone series speakers were chosen for their marine-grade construction, UV-resistant paint, stainless steel fittings, and IP55 rating. Cyclone 4 units, along with Cyclone Bass subwoofers, provide precise low-frequency reinforcement, while Cyclone 55 loudspeakers deliver high SPL and fidelity, ensuring every guest experiences clear, punchy sound regardless of their location in the garden.

To maintain tonal consistency between zones, the indoor area was also equipped with the Void Acoustics Cyclone series. On weekends, live DJ sets and occasional live bands perform here, requiring a system capable of adapting to different music styles and dynamics. Strategic speaker placement and subwoofer reinforcement create even coverage, delivering a cohesive audio experience from bar to seating area.

The Craft system is fully networked with Dante audio, allowing flexible routing and the future integration of additional speakers or zones. An Allen & Heath AHM16 matrix processor manages the audio backbone, controlling routing, EQ, and dynamics independently for indoor and outdoor areas. Amplification is powered by Void Acoustics Bias series amplifiers, complemented by wall-mounted input plates and Allen & Heath DT22 for live performances.

A dedicated Allen & Heath CC7 touchscreen, paired with wireless iPad control, provides the staff with intuitive, one-touch preset switching between background music and live DJ or band performances. Custom control interfaces ensure seamless operation, empowering both staff and performers to deliver consistent audio experiences throughout the venue.

Beyond technical excellence, Craft’s audio system supports the venue’s lifestyle concept. Music is carefully curated, ranging from disco, soul, and funk to laid-back house tracks, creating a welcoming pulse that enhances the daytime café vibe and energizes the evening scene. Every detail, from low-frequency impact to high-frequency clarity, is engineered to complement the venue’s aesthetic while keeping guests fully immersed in the experience.
