Featuring three distinct spaces – Fira Beach Club, Kipo Restaurant, and DOXA Skybar – the venue offers an immersive lifestyle experience blending music, cuisine, and breathtaking views. Behind its sonic identity is an advanced audio installation by Aura Visual System, built on Void Acoustics loudspeakers and a fully integrated Dante Audio Network all seamlessly controlled and programmed with an Allen & Heath AHM system.

The audio design began at the earliest stages of Fira’s development, ensuring that the system could deliver both on the owners’ vision and the operational flexibility required by a high-end, multi-zone hospitality venue.

With various independently controlled zones, the system accommodates a wide range of scenarios – from daytime poolside lounging with background music, to high-energy evening events with international DJs.

At the heart of the system is an Allen & Heath AHM-32 audio matrix processor, chosen for its powerful zoning capabilities, scalable architecture, and seamless Dante integration. All audio sources and destinations are routed digitally via Dante, allowing complete flexibility in sending any input to any zone instantly.

The backbone of Fira’s system is its fully networked Dante Audio infrastructure. Multiple Allen & Heath DT20 I/O panels provide two-channel input and output at key DJ positions, bars, and VIP rooms. This setup allows DJs to move between locations effortlessly, with their performances routed anywhere in the venue at the touch of the CC-7 touchscreen panel via Dante Controller.

The Dante network also supports redundancy, with primary and secondary network paths ensuring uninterrupted audio even if a cable or switch fails. All network traffic is handled by Cisco switches, with the AHM-32 acting as the master clock for synchronisation across the entire system.

Void Acoustics was the loudspeaker brand of choice – not only for its sound quality, but also for its weather-resistant, marine-grade finishes and striking design that complements Fira’s Greek–Mediterranean architecture.

The installation features the entire Cyclone series in white:

- Cyclone 55 for general coverage in restaurants, reception, and shaded areas.

- Cyclone 10 along the pool deck for higher SPL with wide coverage.

- Cyclone 8 as delay lines to ensure consistent sound along walkways and in the pool area.

- Cyclone Bass subwoofers strategically placed for uniform low-frequency response without visual clutter.

- Cyclone 4 paired with Venu 208i powered subs for the VIP rooms, keeping amplification local to reduce cable runs.

Large-format Venu 215 subs and high-power Bias amplifiers (Q5, Q3, Q2+) drive the main zones, with zone grouping optimised for energy efficiency and system headroom.

Thanks to the AHM processor and Dante routing, Fira’s staff can adjust each zone’s volume, source, and EQ independently – either manually or via preset recall. Presets are programmed for different operational modes, including:

- Morning background music

- Afternoon pool sessions

- Guest DJ events

- International headline performances

The system is designed for scalability. Additional speakers, DJ positions, or upgraded performance areas can be integrated into the Dante network without re-cabling – simply patching new devices in software. Remote system monitoring and control ensure minimal downtime and maximum reliability, even in Phuket’s challenging tropical climate.

All Void Acoustics Cyclone loudspeakers used at Fira are IP55-rated and resistant to high humidity, salt air, and intense UV exposure – essential for a venue that operates year-round on the Andaman coastline. The installation minimises visual impact by using fewer but strategically positioned subwoofers, shared between indoor and outdoor coverage areas.

The result is a venue-wide sound system that is uniform, powerful, and invisible in operation, seamlessly shifting between intimate dining ambience and full-scale party energy.
