Set against the stunning backdrop of Patong Beach, Yona Beach Club in Phuket stands as the world’s first floating beach club—a multi-tiered, luxury venue centered around a 22-meter infinity pool, panoramic ocean views and Void Acoustics sound system.

Designed by a visionary French entrepreneur, Yona’s concept was a bold fusion of engineering and creativity, realized through years of perseverance.

When approached by the club to refine its existing Void Acoustics audio design, Aura Visual System stepped in and completely overhauled the installation, optimizing speaker placement and delay timing to deliver uniform, immersive sound throughout the venue.

Tailored Audio Upgrades for a Unique Floating Venue

The main zones (The beach club and cabanas) initially featured Void Acoustics Air Motion and Stasys XV2 subwoofers, which have since been upgraded to Tri Motion and Air Vantage, offering improved clarity and coverage.
The second and third floors (terraces and rooftop) are now acoustically enhanced with Void Acoustics Air Series, including Cyclone 10 for delay, and Air 15 for subwoofers to ensure balanced sound across all levels.
A key challenge involved reconfiguring the restaurant’s speaker alignment to avoid signal overlap—requiring precise delay and level tuning to maintain consistent coverage.

Flexible Audio Control & Boundary-Pushing Engineering

An Allen & Heath AHM-32 processor with preset configurations manages transitions from chill to party atmospheres, automatically adjusting sound profiles for relaxed mornings, lively afternoons, and DJ-led parties. All settings are easily controlled through the CC7 touchscreen panel.
Due to an increase in international performances, we upgraded to a sleek monitoring system featuring Adamson IS7 monitors, which are discreetly installed above the DJ booth for a clean aesthetic.
The audio system incorporates Dante networking through Netgear switches, ensuring seamless signal transmission. This allows the DJ booth to be repositioned while maintaining consistent acoustic quality throughout the club.

Built to Withstand Coastal Conditions

All Void Acoustics speakers installed at Yona are marine-grade, weatherized models specifically designed to resist humidity, salt corrosion, and tropical weather. This durability is essential for a floating, open-sea environment. The sound system is equipped with full redundancy, ensuring seamless operation even amid the challenging logistics of a floating venue.

The result is a soundscape that adapts to Yona’s changing atmosphere—whether guests are enjoying breakfast in the restaurant, lounging by the infinity pool, sipping cocktails in a cabana, or dancing under the sun on the rooftop deck.
